On his second and last day of the NATO summit in Wales, the Albanian
Prime Minister, Edi Rama, met with the US President, Barack Obama, with
whom he discussed the further improvement of mutual relations.
Right after the US President, Rama met with the US State Secretary, John Kerry, who will continue the discussion started between the Albanian Prime Minister and the US President.
When asked about his meeting with the Greek counterpart and his interest about the territorial reform, Prime Minister Rama declared that this is an issue that belongs to Albania and that has been approved by the Albanian Parliament.
As for the unsolved matters between Albania and Greece, Rama underlined that this is not an unsolved matter with Greece, but a matter of Albania for improving the life of the Albanian people and of its minorities.
As for the canceled maritime agreement, Rama expressed his readiness to treat it with the Greek government.
Meanwhile, the Greek Prime Minister is expected to visit Tirana soon, invited by Prime Minister Rama.
The Head of our Government declared that the Albanian people come in this summit with better credits earned through the contribution in international missions, and “that’s why Albania deserves more attention in the NATO”.
He asked all countries of the NATO alliance to recognize the independence of Kosovo, and as for the other countries of the region that aspire NATO accession, especially Macedonia, Rama declared that besides the name problem with Greece, Macedonia should also implement the Ochrid agreement.
