The General Secretary of State, Ban Ki-moon, reserved a reception for
the Albanian Prime Minister, after Rama held a 16 minute speech before
the UN members.
The announcement for this meeting was published by the office of Ban Ki-moon, saying that they discussed the priorities of the new government.
“The General Secretary encouraged the government for the fight against corruption and progress with the reforms that are related to justice and the rule of law”, the announcement says.
Ban Ki-moon congratulated Rama for having a larger number of female Ministers in the government, hoping that this tendency will continue.
By the end of the press release, the office of Ban Ki-moon says that during the meeting with Edi Rama, the General Secretary expressed his appreciation for Albania’s acceptance of the UN reforms and for supporting the initiative “We Act As One Community”, and for being active in the development agenda of 2015.
