Rama: “Macedonia cannot integrate without Albanians and Ochrid Agreement”

The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, declared that Macedonia cannot
achieve integration without respecting the rights of the Albanian
population.

“The Ochrid Agreement must be implemented thoroughly. It would be impossible for me to avoid two words regarding Macedonia and the Kumanova tragedy, where, unfortunately, the words ‘Albanian’ and ‘terrorist’ were on the same sentence, in a dangerous attempt to give terrorism an ethnic color, and to give the ethnic group prejudice. This is unacceptable, not only to us, but to the interest of Macedonia. The Macedonian authorities must be very clear that the Albanian people have been, are and will always be an unchangeable state-forming factor for the integration of the Macedonian government”, Rama declared.

Rama added that Balkan is under the threat of terrorism.

“We know that if we speak about regions where violent extremism is a constant threat, ours is one of those regions. International terrorisim keeps being a threat to this region, same as to the global security and peace”, Rama added.

For the Albanian Prime Minister, the region needs cooperation if we want a Balkan without extremism.
