The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, inspected the works of the Durres
tourist trajectory, which starts at the Plepa overpass, near the city’s
entrance, to the Beach Street, Taulantia and Currila, with special
lanes for cars, bicycles and sidewalks, all of it besides the sea.
So far, the firms have finished with the asphalt for vehicles, bicycles, sidewalks and are still working with the installment of 246 lamps and planting of 416 trees.
“This investment was blocked by the central government, as they had done with any project coming from the Socialists. The Mayor turned these in investments for the citizens of Durres. These huge changes took place for only 18 months. In the next four years, there will be other ambitious projects that will change Durres”, Rama declared.
After Durres, Rama went to Vlore, to inspect its coastline project known as “Lungomare”, with funds from the European Commission. The project aims revitalizing the urban area of the Vlore City.
