The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, inaugurated the start of the
works for the construction of the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline, the biggest
investment in Albania, mounting up to 1 billion ALL. Rama said that
Albania had an excellent cooperation with the community and that after
this first investment phase, they will start building the main pipelines
that will go through the Albanian territory for 211 kilometers, opening
more than 800 new jobs.
Berat and Fier are the two districts that will benefit most from this investment. Rama declared that besides the gas passage, the companies will also regulate the infrastructure alongside. Rama spoke about the master plan for the gasification of the country, and said that the government is working closely with the TAP shareholders to study the technical and financial conditions of this plan.
The Minister of Energy, Damian Gjiknuri, considered the starting of this work as a historic event. The Minister of Energy promised that the Albanian authorities will avoid any bureaucratic obstacle for investors.
