One of the best sellers of the Book Fair is Edi Rama’s “Kurban”, a topic
that is being treated in Top Channel’s program “Top Story”.

Top Story’s host, journalist Sokol Balla, discussed the possible truths or lies that this book could hold; Rama’s relations with other political figures and his 11 years as Mayor of Tirana, the Albanian capital.

“People don’t believe that I live in a rented apartment, because it is not interesting. The fantasy that I live in a castle is much better. I didn’t want to come in the studio, because it is not up to me to speak about my book, but to the persons you have invited. I shouldn’t even appear in this moment, but I couldn’t refuse your invitation for this book. Different to what happens with the political speeches and debates, for this case I have some fragility that those who promoted the book and followed my idea, noted it. It is the fragility of someone who has created and has exposed his creature, and who feels uncovered and fragile in front of the others”, Rama declared.

As for the vision that this book is for the future, not the past, Rama says:

“I don’t know if I have achieved it or not. This book is not for the past, but for the future by observing the past. It is true that I have written a series of things, but not memories. I have been remembering things during the course of the writing. On the other hand, I feel good for the disagreements with what is written in the book, for specific parts of it, or many parts of it. Many people could buy it due to my figure, but I hope that many others, after reading it, will find it pleasant even if they disagree during this conversation with me”.
