Israel has not forgotten the help Albanian citizens gave to jews during
the Second World War, according to Israeli PM, Benjamin Netanyahu.
According to Jerusalem Post, the Albanian PM was received in Tel Aviv by the Israeli PM, who declared that “Albania was the only country in Europe that had more Jews after than beore the war. Albania defended the Jews during the holocaust and refused to hand them over to the Nazi.
Both Prime Ministers signed cooperation agreements for which Netanyahu said they mark the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Jerusalem Post writes that the Albanian people, most of whom Muslim, risked their lives to save the Jews.
