In his first speech for this Parliamentary term, Prime Minister Rama
expressed his support for Speaker Gramoz Ruci, saying that his
appointing will only bring benefits to the public.

“I had never been more certain that the voting of an individual would bring public benefits. I am convinced that you will not tolerate the majority and will respect equality”, Rama said.

The Prime Minister said he is aware of the mistakes and wrongdoings of the previous majority, during the past four years, and also for the responsibility in this second mandate.

“I hope that the colleagues of the opposition will cooperate. June 25th showed that you cannot win by pushing for conflicts. Everything we do wrong is a wrongdoing to the future of our children. Our reforms for children will be very deep. We will focus on energy, financial sources, schools and education”, Rama said.

Inviting the opposition to cooperate, the Albanian Prime Minister said that both parties have more things that get them together rather than dividing them.

“The reputation of Albania in the world is something that must unite us. No political group in any country of the world takes up world tours to damage the reputation of its own country. We must undertake a joint initiative for matters that should unite us, due to the major obligations that we have”, Rama said, speaking about a unification of the Albanian people.

“I am not talking about greater Albania, but about a unique Albanian nations which is still far from being connected, compact and unified as the other nations”, Rama said and invited the opposition to make it possible for immigrants to vote in the June 2021 elections.

Rama congratulated the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, and said there will be more cooperation and institutional unification.

As for the relation with neighbors, Rama said it should be based on mutual respect.

“Every Greek who lives in Albania is a member of our family. The Greek community is a bridge that connects our people, and the Albanian government will increase support for them. But Albania will not close its mouth for its own rights”, Rama said, promising once again to follow the policy of zero problems with neighbors.
