Kazakhstan is considered as one of the countries with the richest oil,
gas, uranium, gold and diamond reserves. This makes Kazakhstan a very
desirable country for economic cooperation. This was the goal of the
official visit of the Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, in Astana, with
also the presence of the Kosovo deputy Prime Minister, Behgjet Pacolli.
President Nursultan Nazarbayev, who has been leading the country since 1991, confirmed that he would visit Albania soon, together with a group of Kazakh businessmen who have interest to invest in Albania.
President Nazarbayev believes that the new Albanian government offers and new chance for reinforcing the cooperation between the two countries. For Prime Minister Rama, Albania is ready to welcome the Kazak inveestors, thanks to the economic reforms, and create opportunities to invest in tourism, infrastructure and fuels.
During this visit in Astana, the Albanian Prime Minister and the Kazakh counterpart, Karim Massimov, signed an agreement for deepening the relationship between the two countries.
One of the most important projects discussed during the visit of the Albanian delegation in Kazakhstan was the construction of a modern railway system that could connect the Albanian ports with the European and the Asian railway network. Kazakh investors are among the most powerful in Europe today, with an investment volume of 26 billion USD.
