Rama in Kavaja: More investments than in the past 20 years

Kavaja is another city where the main road and facades are being reconstructed by the government’s plan “revival of our cities”.

Prime Minister Edi Rama declared that the time of Kavaja’s abandonment is over, and that these investments are only the beginning.

“Kavaja trusted its municipality to the DP for 20 years, and the central government to the DP for eight years, and they never received anything. But they have turned into a construction site during the first year of the Socialist government. 11.000 square meters of Kavaja’s center will be reconstructed, plus 3200 square meters of park and 2.5 kilometers of road. This is only the beginning of an investment that will continue”, Rama declared.

The Prime Minister’s declarations left to be understood that Elvis Roshi would still be the candidate of the SP for the elections of 2015.

“This City Hall that is one of the most beautiful of our country, after the elections of 2015 will also have Golem under its jurisdiction”, Rama declared.

How do the citizens see these investments?

“Nothing has been done in Kavaja for the past 25 years. This is good”, one citizen says.

“We’re happy that they are working, and we hope they will always work like this, so that our city can change”, a resident declared.

Rama visited the rebuilt premises of the Kavaja City Hall, which he called a model for all other municipalities.

The Prime Minister added that the government will support all projects proposed by the Municipality and the MP of this area, Parid Cara. He added that the government’s focus will also be reducing the unemployment.

Rama inspected the entrance road, which is being rebuilt by a 2.4 million USD project by the Albanian Development Fund.

“This road is changing with the new government. This is a special road, because it has a lane for bicycles”, Mayor Roshi declared.
