In his speech as winner of these elections, the Socialist Party leader,
Edi Rama, declared that he will be the Prime Minister and servant of
Albanians.
“The duty is mine, but the power is yours. I will never forget this, and please, don’t you ever forget it too. For the sake of Albania, we should do this revival together”, Rama declared.
The Socialist Party leader declared that this is the proudest moment of his life, but humility prevails over pride in this moment.
“Albania decided to give this huge task and responsibility to me and my team today, together with our Socialist Movement for Integration partners and the other allies”, Rama declared.
He invited the citizens to share together the aspirations, the challenges and efforts to recover our economy through competition and honest taxation; through services that go where there is need and no to someone’s pockets; so that there can be a coexistence of democracy, regardless the party and regional affiliations.
“The sovereign people colored map of Albania with the purple color, from Shkoder to Vlore, to give us the historic opportunity to try and prove with our behavior and dees that we can detach this country from the past; we can start together and tell each other and the world that we have the values and the responsibility to achieve the testaments of our predecessors, and for what we owe to the children of Albania”, Rama declared.
Rama spoke about his political adversary, sending him a different message from the past times.
“I have said unpleasant words for my predecessor, and this happens in undeveloped democracies like ours. But today I want to tell Berisha that I thank him for everything good that history might value tomorrow about him, and that maybe I don’t see today objectively. I wish him all the best in his private life”, Rama declared.
The winner of these elections underlined that this plebiscite vote is not his own triumph, but a huge challenge for tomorrow.
“This is part of the government’s challenge, so that none of the electors can feel bad. None of the state employees should feel threatened, and no media outlet that has protected my adversary should feel endangered. Everyone deserves our respect, and we will prove to all of them that change has not come to do bad things to them, by violating the rules of this country”, Rama declared.
