The Albanian Prime Minister was bombarded by comments on his Facebook
profile, after the Court of Appeal released Ardian Fullani, the Governor
of the Bank of Albania.
“To those who are revolted by a court verdict and who insulted the government with all they could. I want to remind them that this is not the profile of a Court, and that I am not a judge or a prosecutor. I have never promised or planned to become a judge or prosecutor by becoming a Prime Minister”, Rama declared.
The government leader says that the time when the Council of Ministers and the Albanian Parliament played the role of popular courts and prosecutions is thankfully gone together with the dictatorship, and whoever has tried to bring it back has made only injustices.
“Whoever thinks that the medicine for this judiciary system that is ruined by the cancer of corruption is to let a Prime Minister become Prosecutor, and the Government become a court, is either crazy or not well informed”, Rama declared.
“As for the case in question, a long and detailed explanation is needed for those who cannot understand how bad it is if a government or a majority confuses the judiciary reform, which is their duty, with the investigations and verdicts of criminal cases, which is a duty of the independent judiciary system”.
