The Socialist Party leader, Edi Rama, met the citizens of Municipal Unit
no.5 in Tirana, with whom he discussed the Socialist program about
lowering taxes for wages and small businesses. Rama declared that the
current tax system is dishonest, and that the progressive tax will make
teachers, police officers, nurses and other workers to benefit at least
one bonus salary by the end of the year.
“A honest tax system will give to teachers one extra salary, together with police officers and nurses. More than 1.5 million people and all small businesses will directly benefit from the lowered taxes”, Rama declared.
The Socialist Party leader, Edi Rama, declared that farmers will profit even more from the lowered taxes. This will affect their production cost and food prices in the market will be cheaper. Rama promised to encourage the domestic production, saying that it is a shame that Albania cannot secure its own food products, but imports them.
“Farmers who cannot make a normal production due to the high cost will benefit from the lowered taxes. The food prices will drop by reducing its production cost for farmers. We are the only country in Europe that imports eight units of food for every one exported unit. This is a shame for this country that has everything that is needed to produce everything on its own”, Rama declared.
