Rama: “Here’s why Berisha calls people to get armed”

For the Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, the declaration that former
PM Sali Berisha released this Thursday, appealing for citizens to arm
themselves against the government, places him along the politicians,
judges and prosecutors who don’t want the justice reform.

“The more pressure comes from the international community for the justice reform, more tension there is in Parliament, and more tightens the rope around those who fear the reform, and more intensive becomes the criminalizing politics of the DP. His declaration goes along with this spirit, to create an atmosphere that justifies the abandoning of the reform”, the Prime Minister declared.

Rama says there is only one concern from the declaration of Berisha:

“There is nothing Berisha can do. He can only control the absurd inferiority at the Democratic Party. Nobody should take his appeal seriously, but they should be concerned about the justice reform”, Rama said.

The Prime Minister said there is a plan from the opposition to oppose the justice reform.

“We will see during these months that this is their plan. It starts with the thrown eggs and with the playground. These are expressions of the fact that their plan is desperate. Those who want to bring it to life are desperate. Berisha doesn’t want the justice reform, and the Democratic Party cannot want the justice reform”, Rama declared.

The reason why Berisha doesn’t want the reform, according to Rama, is because it will bring down the cast of politicians, prosecutors and judges who violate the law in Albania. And, according to Rama, Berisha is one of them.

What troubled the opposition and made them use a harsher rhetoric, according to Rama, is his visit in Washington and the message taken by the White House.

Rama concluded his speech by saying that the reform will pass, but Albanians will have to wait and see at what price.
