The Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, in the first government meeting for 2019, declared that 50% of the student fees in universities will be covered by the budget.
“It will be 50% for students, 100% for students in economic difficulties”, Rama said, complaining that the secretaries at universities are not spreading the message to students.
Rama also said that several university professors are pushing students to continue with protests because they want to avoid going to work.
The Prime Minister said that he had been chatting with students on Whatsapp about the fees of master studies. Rama said that it will be impossible to cut the fees for this category.
