On the first day of his official visit in the USA, Prime Minister Edi Rama met with the Mayor of New York, Bill de Blasio.
Rama valued the excellent relations between the USA and Albania, but also the role that the USA has played for defending the national interests of Albania.
The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, was part of an activity organized by the Albanian Community, focusing on the organization of the first Diaspora Summit.
“The summit will be a major event, with the government and other international actors discussing with the representatives of the Albanian diaspora, from every country of the world, in more than 50 countries, for concrete steps that might be taken to reinforce the ties and cooperation between us”, Rama said.
Prime Minister Rama sees this summit as a chance to establish a cooperation structure.
“It will be a meeting without any distinction for what we are, for what we trust or what party we prefer. This meeting will be revived by thee desire to unite through ideas, concrete steps and action plans, led by the need to build a bridge between us, the Albanians abroad and those in Albania”, Rama said.
In this meeting was shown the movie “Besa – Promise” and a photographic display.
