One year after the start of the operation for collecting debts, the
Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, mentioned the privatization and
behavior of the Albanian government after makin CEZ go away. Rama said
that Albania will start a criminal investigation with international
experts for what has happened in the entire energy sector after the
agreement was signed with the Czech company.
Rama said that the CEZ agreement is being attacked today by opeople who abused with the sector.
“The agreement that is being attacked today in an orchestrated way – for reason that we know and time will prove this – pushed by the fear of those who have to answer for what ahs been done to the energy sector. This is an agreement that was not negotiated in secret groups like the other deals, now proven with documents and that will be part of the investigation. Our agreement was negotiated in Vienna with the participation of 15 people from the Albanian government, and every session has been recorded”, Rama declared.
The Prime Minister reiterated the stance of the majority, saying that the Albanian government had no chances to win at the Arbitrage court, all this thanks to the actions undertaken by the Albanian government after breaking up the cooperation with CEZ.
“This abusive privatization started as a failure, because the government made this privatization for a deal, and when that deal was broken, they used a police offensive, a big mistake. The Albanian government was exposed to the private operators, and the Albanian government was condemned to lose in any court”, the PM declared.
Rama said that the police attack against the company and the appointing of an government-led administrator as head of a private company, made way for abuses and robberies, with the hope this would bring votes to hold the government on its feet.
The Prime Minister defended Minister Damian Gjiknuri, who is being accused of corruption.
