Partnership between the government, institutions and the art community,
to bring to life ideas through fair competition and far from favors and
discrimination.

This was the message given by the Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama,  during the ceremony of presenting Ilir Kerni as Director of the Theater of Opera and Ballet and Artan Shabani who will lead the National Gallery of Arts.

“The Albanian culture has fallen to the point of ruin, and that’s why we need a complete reform”, the Prime Minister declared.

“We will turn a new page in the governing of culture and cultural institutions, so that we can protect the treasury of our cultural heritage and the promotion of talents, novelties and modern values for increasing the quality of cultural and artistic products, but also to increase the quality of cultural and artistic education”, Rama declared.

From this ceremony, the Prime Minister sent an appeal to all Albanian talents in the world, so that they can give their contribution not only in culture, but also in other fields.

“I thank Ilir Kerni and Artan Shabani for returning to their fatherland. This is an appeal that I want to do to all successful people. Albania needs their talent, ability, experience, passion, profession and their love for this country, where they will find my support and that of our government for contributing together in the public sector and all fields”, Rama declared.

Mirela Kumbaro game a short panorama of the institution she leads.

“The reform will be in the system, the concept, as a culture for artists, creators and especially the youth. This is in fact that essence of the new cultural reform that we want to implement. Culture and public art institutions must open for the youth, since they are the biggest part of our population, but also as a very important element of education through culture, which is one of the main pillars of the new government program”, Kumbaro declared.
