As soon as he arrived from Sofia, the Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, declared in a press release that the enlargement winds from within the EU are not helping, but he remains optimist.
“The summit was not for the topic we are most interested about, but discussing that topic was inevitable, as result of our persistence to use every space made available to us, for our diplomatic efforts until the end of June. We had two important occasions, one with the meeting of the leaders and one with the next dinner. EU is at the peak of an internal debate, but this was a good possibility and we used it maximally. I remain optimistic”, Rama said, adding that Albania is in a phase of high-level intensive dialogue.
