Socialist Party leader and candidate for the Tirana Municipality, Edi
Rama, declared on Top-Channel’s program, “Top Story”, that this campaign
has been characterized by violence against Socialist Party candidates
and supporters.

“The campaign was characterized by threats all over the territory that the central government controls by pressuring teachers and students. This shows the fear that Berisha has from May 8th elections and the vote”, Rama said.

Asked on what he did notice while traveling all over Albania, Rama said that the area governed by his rival, the civil coexistence has shrunk.

“All areas governed by Sali Berisha, where reigns the thievery and ignorance that characterizes the government of Sali Berisha, has enclosed people within themselves and their civil coexistence space has shrunk”, Rama emphasized.

Opposition leader emphasized that the “Pact with the Citizen” is one of the reasons why the citizens should vote “Alliance for the Future”.

“We have all the reasons to win, because people are fed with those who govern like Berisha. While us, on the other hand, offer a “Pact with the Citizen” that guarantees equal rights amongst the citizens”, he declared.

Rama expressed his conviction on victory.

“There will be no more thievery, violence and fear in Kamëz or Kavaja, because we are united to face an electoral process that will make us win all over Albania”, he declared.

Asked if he is demanding a full mandate for the Municipality, or if he gets elected and then SP comes into power, he will leave the municipality for the Prime Ministry, Rama said that Tirana needs another national policy and that this will be decided by the citizens.

“This will be decided by Tirana, by the citizens with vote. Today, Tirana needs another national policy, a development policy, like all Albania”, Rama said.
