In the traditional last-year’s reception of ambassadors and foreign
diplomats, Prime Minsiter Edi Rama declared that the majority is ready
to complete the requests of the opposition so that they can stop the
boycott, but the opposition, according to Rama, must be clear on what
they demand.

“Despite of what the majority thinks, the fact that the opposition is not in Parliament doesn’t damage only the opposition, but the entire country and its credibility. I don’t know what we can do more to make them turn back to do their job, but we will do everything if they tell us what”, Rama declared.

The Prime Minister’s speech started with a balance of this year. He valued the candidate status, the reforms for building a modern state and going up 40 spots in the list of countries that are good for doing business with.

“I don’t want to hide the pride for what we have been able to achieve in one year and for how many long due reforms we have started only during this year. I am proud that we received the candidate status, because in nine months we did what could not be done for years, such as removing the European Columbia, Lazarat. Without completing the reforms in the judiciary system, we will not be able to build the modern state for which we laid the foundations”, Rama declared.

The majority leader promised that our country will keep investing in good relations with the neighbors and the European integration. He mentioned the Berlin summit and the possibilities that it gives for economic development in the region. Once again he declared that he will continue the difficult road for building a real partnership with Serbia.

“Serbia is not our enemy anymore, but our neighbor that should turn into a real partner for building the European future of Balkan. The model for this comes from the history between Germany and France. It is a difficult mission, but I think we will make it, because we are not alone. We have the support of Germany and of Chancellor Merkel personally”, the Prime Minister declared.
