The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, valued that all expectancies of
the regional countries have been fulfilled during the conference with
the German Chancellor.
The Albanian government leader declared in
an interview for Top Channel that a cooperation process has started
between the EU and Balkan, the goal of which is economic aid by funding
infrastructure projects and reduce the development gap between the
European and Balkan countries.
Rama confirmed the visit of the
German Chancellor in Tirana, and said that it is a responsibility for
Albania to advance with the regional dialogue through his visit to
Belgrade on October 22nd.
TCH: Were your expectancies reached
Edi Rama, Prime Minister: Certainly!
TCH: What was the culminating point of this conference?
Prime
Minister Rama: Not only the conference, but the working dinner that we
had with the chancellor is a reason to believe that a process has
started.
TCH: Why is Germany the catalyzer of this process?
Prime
Minister Rama: Who else, if not Germany? Everyone is aware that Balkan
has a series of inherited problems from the past. It is clear that with
its current instruments, Balkan cannot pass the gap between the huge
expectancies of people from Europe and of the real Europe for the
people. A political, economic and financial support is needed, while we
continue individually the difficult duties. Balkan must start being
connected with bigger infrastructure projects, with networks of energy,
transportation, professional education, enterprising, private
enterprising and so on.
TCH: What was the position of Kosovo in these talks?
Prime
Minsiter Rama: It is certain that Kosovo was equal to the other
countries, and wasn’t left aside from the other Balkan countries.
TCH:
During the press conference with Merkel you announced your visit in
Belgrade on october 22nd. What do you aim reaching with this visit?
Which is the agenda?
Prime Minister Rama: Allow me to confirm
that the chancellor will visit Albania, while the visit in Belgrade is
part of this process. We have taken a special responsibility and we want
to stand to it by playing an encouraging and coordinating role with the
other countries, so that we can transform the region in the perception
of the United Europeans, because we are the ununited Europeans in a sea
of problems with an oasis of possibilities, and we must do this
together.
