With 76 votes in favor, the majority discharged the Head of the High
Inspectorate of Declaration and Audit of Assets, Zana Xhuka. The
opposition was not present in the voting procedure, since they left
because of the protest. The Parliament voted Shkelqim Ganaj to replace
Xhuka. He was her rival one year earlier, but had never been voted.
Sali Berisha: Mr.’Disintegration’, your party is named “Socialist Movement for Integration”, but every day you prove to be the party of disintegration, since you accept these things. You are sacrificing Zana Xhuka for the apartment building of the co-leader.
Ilir Meta: This candidacy was proposed against the law, and this is what I said when I was in coalition with you. I have not voted for this candidacy, since you accused me too.
The Parliament continued with hard debates, and Berisha was once again protagonist in the podium, with other accusations against the political opponents. Rama declared that if justice was independent in our country, the opposition exponents would now be facing courts.
Sali Berisha: Let’s read the letter that Rama wrote to Zana Xhuka when she asked explanations about the assets, and when she summoned Linda Basha.
Ilir Meta: And this is related to this session, how…?
Sali Berisha: You have turned the state in an ugly club.
Edi Rama: You are still controlling the justice system with the instruments of your policy that is part of the guilt with those who you have placed as pawns, taking back the guarantee that you will be untouched for years, and in exchange you have let them do all what they want with the common people. This is time that starting from “January 21st””, the case that you so much love, a foreign Prosecutor must come and lead the case.
February 20th, the day when Enver Hoxha’s statue was toppled, was not left outside the debate.
Sali Berisha: You turned into a laughing stock for the National Museum workers, while staying against the wall, with the hope that you put a flower in the place where you wanted.
Edi Rama: I don’t who was staying against walls, but I know who stayed on boats with Hoxha’s children. Physically, we have only one volunteer of Enver Hoxha in this room, and he is not on the left. He is with the right parties, and he just arrived.
Ridvan Bode: Take them back. Keep them for yourself, the people with whom you came from the “Block” sewer.
Edi Rama: You was a volunteer of Enver Hoxha.
Sali Berisha: What connects you with Enver Hoxha is the signature for hangings in the Tirana squares, in the squares of the Albanian cities, given by your father.
Edi Rama: A testimony from the wife of a high-rank communist leader. When her husband died, she didn’t know what to do first, to cry for his husband or comfort Sali Berisha, who was crying more than anyone.
Shkelqim Gaxha, former Prosecutor, was an inspector of the High Inspectorate of Declaration and Audit of Assets, institution that was involved in a crisis in the past months, with most of the employees being against the leader Xhuka, who they accused of not making the audit of high rank officials, making institutions inexistent.
