The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, and the European Commissioner for Enlargement, Johannes Hahn, visited Vlore today to promote tourism investments that have also been funded by EU.
Rama promised that investments will continue in Vlore.
“We will invest on the historic center of Vlore, which will allow the city to show its own identity. We will continue with Orikum, Llogara and Himara”, Rama said.
The Prime Minister said that 500 projects will continue in the next four years in rural areas as well. “The Urban Revival is a program to encourage economy, tourism, employment and social development”, Rama said.
Hahn promised that the EU will keepn supporting Albania with the restoration of tourist areas throughout Albania and Vlore, and not only for the Lungomare.
“Vlora will be a greeting card for foreigners who arrive in Tirana. This is why we have co-funded the rehabilitation of cities. Besides the project in Vlore we have other support programs for Berat, Shkoder, etc, to rehabilitate some parts of these cities and change the image of your country in Europe. If you introduce yourselves as you are doing today with the Lungomare, then it is something positive”, Hahn said.
