The Puppet Theater opened its doors for the little ones today, in Skanderbeg Square in the Albanian capital Tirana, after a long renovation.
After many years of absence due to damage and depreciation, the theater comes with new infrastructure, with a stage and auditorium with modern technology.
Prime Minister Edi Rama and the EU Ambassador in Tirana participated in the symbolic performance that marked the resumption of the activity and did not spare jokes with the children, ironically mentioning that the building used to be the Albanian Parliament.
“I want to thank all the children for their patience and apologize if they came to the puppet theater and see puppets on stage like me. The Albanian Parliament was once here and I wish you grow up seeing as little of the Albanian Parliament as possible, until you can no longer avoid it.
“Please consider us puppets and treat us like puppets, but unlike the puppets you caress, you should keep us as far away as possible. I apologize to you for those you saw before me,” said PM Rama, among other things.
