After the report of the European Commission, the Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, declared in a joint press release with the Ambassador of the EU delegation in Albania, Luigi Soreca, that the decision of the European Commission for recommending the accession negotiations is not a surprise, since Albania has followed all priorities set by the EU.
Rama appealed the opposition leader, Lulzim Basha, that for the sake of the next generations of Albanians, he should not try to make some of the countries vote against Albania, with false images that don’t portray the reality of Tirana.
The EU Ambassador, Luigi Soreca, said that the political parties should show good will to leave their differences aside and engage in dialogue, which would serve to the interest of everyone.
