The declaration of the Albanian Prime Minister that Albania is ready to return the favor to Italy by accepting refugees, was commented by the Italian press.
Albania accepted 20 out of 150 refugees stuck in the Diciotti boat many days.
Rama has been quoted of having said: “We should have done it before, but we didn’t want to create misunderstandings with Rome. Today’s Eritrean immigrants are similar to Albanians once. Albania cannot replace Europe, but we will help whenever we can”.
The Albanian Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ditmir Bushati, was on the same line. He said today on BBC that this is a massive crisis and no European country can confront it alone.
