The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, introduced some results of the
operation against informality. According to Rama, there have been 94.000
inspections throughout the country, thousands of subjects have been
registered voluntarily and 17.000 new fiscal agreements have been
signed.

Rama said the number of released purchase bills has increased with 55 million, and the declared turnover has raised with 52%, which shows that the potential of the action’s result is still to come.

Informality in agriculture is changing, according to Rama, since farmers are being equipped with a business registration number.

Rama invited all farmers who want to benefit from grants to register their businesses.

He also answered to the critics made by the US Chamber of Commerce.

“The leaders of the US Chamber of Commerce must tell us what happens in the US when someone is caught with tax evasion”, Rama said.

If you go against this operation, it means to be wanting those who don’t pay to be a burden even for those who do pay, the Prime Minsiter declared.

Answering to the accusations of the opposition, Rama said they are also consequence of the inertia coming from the past.

Rama added that Albania will drop from the “Doing Business” classification of the World Bank, but he explained it is due to the blockage of constructions, a measure to stop illegal building and to stop abuses with their permits.
