Albania woke up again today with heavy rains, which caused traffic problems in different areas of the country such as Tirana, Durrës, Vlora, Lezhë and Mirdita.
Rain water flooded several roads in the capital Tirana and in Durrës, while the situation is also problematic in Vlora in the southwest, while in Mirdita in the northeast, water was reported to have entered the houses and flooded agricultural lands.
In other areas such as Kukës, Tropoja, Shkodër in the north, there have been problems with electricity. Due to the inclement weather and in order to maintain the safety of the working conditions, OSSH network maintenance electricians said that they cannot start work until the normalization of rainfall and the cessation of atmospheric discharges.
On the Skuraj-Burrel road axis in the northeast, rockfalls and road blockages were reported, as well as in the village of Shkopet and in the Milot administrative unit, in Kurbin.
The heavy rains in the capital Tirana continued for several minutes, causing flooding of the roads in some areas and increased traffic. The Lana River was swollen but not out of its bed.
Heavy rains also covered the territory of Lezhë district. During the hours of the night until the morning, rain was of medium intensity, sometimes up to high, but without creating serious problems.
According to the data of the Military Meteorological Service in Gjadër, there was an average of 36 mm of rain. From the civil emergency structures of the Kurbin municipality, a problem is reported in the fall of inert material on the roads in the Milot administrative unit, in the village of Shkopet, as well as in the village of Delbnisht. Kurbin police forces are also present in Shkopet and are disciplining the traffic. The work to clean the inert material fallen on the roads continues.
