June’s unstable weather allowed tourists to enjoy more of our country than just the seaside, such as visits to other tourist areas, trying more restaurants, visiting historic and archaeological monuments, etc.
“The weather didn’t affect foreign tourists, just local ones. The foreigners have travelled to Durres, Tirana, Kruja, Oher, Butrint and Saranda”, said Ekleona Kondi, manager of a hotel group.
A polish tourist said that he spent the rainy days drinking, making visits to Durres and Tirana and enjoying local hospitality.
“I live in Turkey, Istanbul. A friend of mine told me I should visit, and here I am. It was a rainy day yesterday. I went to Tirana, visited the museums, tried a fish restaurant and took a walk around Durres. I like Durres”, says another one.
“I am for Sweden. During the rainy days we spent our time in the city of Durres. We have a beer, enjoy a lunch. Albanians are very friendly”, says another one.
Tatiana comes from Belarus. She works as a tourist guide in Albania. She says that tourists make a lot of hikes during these rainy days. Some of them visit the production plant of the “Skenderbeu” brandy.
“It is my first time in Albania. I work as a tourist guide. Tourists are very polite and interested for Albania. They have enjoyed the nature and have visited many places, such as Tirana, Durres, the antique amphitheatre. They enjoyed visiting the Skenderbeu brandy plant. They also loved the Ochrid lake in Pogradec. They like visiting churches. There are many possibilities every day”, she said.
Elizaveta is a Russian girl that surprises us with her fluent Albanian. She has studied Albanian language in Saint Petersburg and is currently employed here as a travel manager, making communication easier for tourists from Russia, Ukraine and Belarus.
Among them, there are many nostalgic Russians who would like to know about the developments in Albania. They enjoy the work in the Albanian tourism sector and say that a loss needs to be done as regards improvements.
