The Foreign Minister of Macedonia, Nikola Popovski, discussed in Tirana
with his Albanian Counterpart, Ditmir Bushati, about the management of
waters in our borders.
The deviation of the Radika riverbed caused the Dibra residents to protest. The Foreign Minister of Macedonia declared that next month they will receive the report for its impact to the environment. He reminded that the project was financed by the World Bank.
“The basic principle is that if the conclusions are positive, we will continue with the project. If it will be negative, we will not continue. Any other speculation would be wrong. Macedonia is more interested than any other to have projects with a good environmental impact”, Popovski declared.
Bushati reminded the obligation to respect the international agreements for border waters, including Ochrid, Prespa and Drin.
