Race for Bank’s Governor

Erdit Hoxha is the Director of Financial Investments Department for Europe at the London based US giant, “Goldman Sachs”, and he is mentioned as one of the possible candidates for the role of the Bank of Albania governor.

Arben Manaj: “Mr.Hoxha, you must have followed the events of the Bank of Albania scandals. What do you think are some of the side effects in this crisis?

Erdit Hoxha: The Bank of Albania protects three assets for the Albanian people: the economic capital, the human capital and the reputation capital. The economic capital has been damaged, but not to the point of creating a crisis. The human capital needs protection. Honest people who work at the Bank of Albania should be protected from the media. Those who are real professionals should not be victims of this crime. Reputation has suffered the most after this scandal. The Bank and other institutions need to work for a longer period to repair the reputation of the Bank of Albania and restore the citizens’ trust.

When asked if he agrees for a foreign Governor, Erdit Hoxha declared that it would be a very good if the Governor was Albanian, because that would be a very good message.
