After receiving the golden medal and “European Champion” title, Erkand
Qerimaj can now be proud of another medal, the “Great Master” order
granted to him by the Albanian President, Bamir Topi.
In a special ceremony at the Presidency, the Albanian Head of State, known to everyone for his passion to sport, granted the medal to Qerimaj only a few days after he received the title, in presence of sportive, art and science personalities, and also of Qerimaj’s friends and relatives.
Qerimaj has won several international medals and has been declared European Champion in weightlifting for 2012.
The European Champion underlined that he felt that his sacrifices paid off, and he promised to give all his efforts for taking the Albanian flag even higher,.
Weightlifting is one of the most successful sports in Albania, but many sportsmen of this category lack of the necessary conditions and evaluation from the Albanian friends, far different from our neighboring countries.
