Greek Police arrested Mikel Kendezi, the last of the most wanted criminals by Albanian
justice, as one of the collaborators in Qafë Gjashta massacre, which took place in 1997.

A policeman was brutally executed at that time, and another was severely injured. According to Greek police, Kendezi was arrested in Athens downtown by agents of Athens Serious Crimes Police Department.

The Greek authorities had received the exact address by Albanian police agents, who localized the suspect thanks to an operative plan that lasted for months. Kendezi was kept under surveillance and he didn’t resist at the moment of the arrest. His arrest closes the case of Qafe Gjashta Massacre and brings to justice the author of one of most horrible crimes that happened in the notorious year of 1997.

Kendezi was sent to the Court of Athens, which accepted the extradition request of Albanian authorities. The court decision will be made public in the days to come.
