Pulaku’s positive test in the Olympic Games London 2012 enters the
history of this Olympiad as the first sportsman that was found with
doping.
In a phone conversation, the head of the Olympic team, Viron Bezhani, spoke about a substance that Pulaku has used until he was excluded from the Olympic Village.
“I am ashamed from this case. It is very serious, because the medicament has been used for horses in 1968. Pulaku has been accompanied outside as an unwanted person and they see each of us badly, because it is a very serious case”, Bezhani declared.
Bezhani accused the Albanian Weightlifting Federation, saying that they knew that Pulaku was not clean. He also accused the Ministry of Sports and the Albanian Antidoping Commission for neglecting the sport problems in our country.
“They all knew that this athlete was not clean. As head of the delegation I insisted for an immediate test, but the answer come after one month and it will be useless by then. the Ministry is responsible because they have established the Antidoping Commission for avoiding similar events. The tests must be on time so that we don’ get humiliated here. Doping is everywhere in Albania”, Bezhani declared.
