Public services, no more offered in offices

The identity card and passport will have more security elements for enabling more identification for the citizens.

“This system allows citizens to be identified through their finger tips, the identity card or a personal PIN. This is offered by the Interior Ministry and the State Police”, Minister Tahiri declared.

A pilot project will start in Rinas by January 2015, known as e-gate. It will be used for an electronic identification of passports for citizens who travel abroad. But the government’s ambition is to digitalize all services in a later period.

“We need to make a digitalization of the property register so that maps cannot be manipulated. The same goes for other services. In this direction, this is the first step and very soon we will bring a number of services in all commercial centers of our country. Retired people will not wait anymore in queues for their pension, but will take it in ATMs”, Prime Minister Rama declared.

Rama focused on a phenomenon that has turned into a cancer for the Albanian citizens, and this is corruption.

“This will be the moment of a big liberation from the nightmare of bribes and corruption that has made so many people suffer in Albania for years”, Rama declared.
