The Interior Minister, Saimir Tahiri, asked Mayors to take measures and
free the public spaces, which have turned into car sale parks.
Many cars are parked in the main cities with a sale advertisement on the window, with the number of the owner. They stay on the same parking spot for weeks. Besides public parking spaces, car sellers also occupy squares and public green areas.
Through a letter sent to 14 Mayors, Minister Tahiri asks them to take measures within 30 days for freeing the public spaces from vehicles that are parked on the same spot for more than 15 days, and for vehicles that use these parking spots for sale.
“The occupation of these areas is blocking the public parking spaces and is creating unnecessary heavy traffic for the citizens”, the Minister’s letter says.
Tahiri adds that the Police is ready to offer help for freeing the spaces within the deadline.
Minister Tahiri underlined that he is waiting for a quick reaction of the local units, or the State Police will work to free the public spaces by taking the necessary measures.
