The Albanian government is determined to go to the end, without
compromises, to the propositions for closing all higher education
institutions that do not fulfill the conditions and that have turned
into proper fraudulent schemes in a delicate sector such as that of
education.
Prime Minister Rama made two Facebook posts about this topic.
“Destruction of the Pyramid Schemes in education. The end of a state and social shame. Support with your words the revolution that we started for real universities”.
In another post, Rama delared that the government is determined to go to the end of this reform.
“The new website that was published yesterday with reports about the legality of higher education institutions will be written constantly with full transparency, with national responsibility, with legal and professional determination”.
According to Rama, the shameful history of the education schemes and the false diploma market will end once and for all.
The Prime Minister underlined that the law will act equally for everyone. He appeals the justice institutions to bring to justice all those who are called by Rama as public impostors that robbed parents and students for years.
As for the students who are affected by this higher education reform, Rama declared that they will have a second chance under the care of the Ministry of Education.
Basha: Closure of universities, unprecedented
“Education reform is being made for personal reasons”
The Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha, accused the majority for the education reform and for the decision to close 17 private higher education institutions, and some public university faculties.
Basha declared that the government has caused shock among the students and has created a huge financial burden for their parents.
“The closing of universities without warning and without transparency, and the irresponsibility and incapability of this government, is damaging the future of the Albanian people. The education system needs to be improved, together with the Tirana University, which has a longer experience”, Basha declared.
Basha added that the opposition is not against the reform, but they oppose what he considers reforms that the Rama-Meta duo are making for their profits.
