Maintaining a happy family fasade and hiding the interna; conflicts, in the eyes of psychologists, leads to the aggravation of the behavior of members within the family, leading them to actions with sometimes fatal consequences.
“I would say that the problems within the Albanian family have increased and these problems have started to remain within the walls of the house and are not taken outside to seek help. Recently, especially after the pandemic, mental health problems within the family are more developed and this brings other consequences and conflicts that the family has internally.” – says Arjana Muca, psychologist.
Muca adds that she also notices that recently in Albanian families, more attention is obviously being paid to the material side than to the emotional connection with each other. This is one of the reasons that is fueling conflicts that unfortunately end in the loss of life of the closest people.
“In most cases, the problems arise precisely because of what we call the material side, economic or monetary values that can be between members within the family. We are losing what is called the emotional family bond between family members, because surprisingly, material value has overtaken family values and norms.”
Events related to crime within the family have a shocking impact on society. But in such cases, in order to achieve results in stopping the repetition of these crimes, it is necessary to talk and show what is the reality, and the consequences that the perpetrators will face after their actions.
“Keep in mind that the punishments must be tangible and visible so that the public or the community understands what happens after such a crime, even more so when there is a loss of life,” adds the psychologist.
