Although no incident took place in the opposition’s protest, the police
created two security cordons, dominated by female police officers.

A few minutes before this protest ended, the middle part of the first cordon requested reinforcement with 10 or 15 officers.

Since the protest was warned, tension has increased especially in the diplomatic circles, very sensitive to any possible danger.

European and American diplomats have had several meetings with the Democratic Party representatives until this Wednesday.

The number of police officers involved in this was high. Almost all police leaders were present close to the Prime Minister’s office, including the Interior Minister, Saimir Tahiri, who was filmed by the cameras on the terrace. The General Police Director, Artan Didi, the Tirana Chief of Police and the National Guard Chief were all present, together with all other chiefs from Tirana’s precincts.

All the staff of the Tirana Police was ready to intervene in case of violence.

The police chose a novelty that was first used in the first opposition’s protest this November, using a security cordon with female police officers.

50 of them were placed in front of the Prime Minister’s office to create the first security belt, before the protest started.

The second belt were the public safety officers of the Tirana precincts, and those of the Tirana District Police.

Far from the cordons were the special forces and the RENEA, who had secured the area around.

The Traffic Police blocked all roads that connected the main boulevard for as long that the protest was continuing.

Fortunately, no incident was marked during the protest. The only debate after the protest was that of the participation.
