The “Together against Bullying” protest took place today in Tirana in “Mother Teresa” square, prompted by the suicide of Bedrie Loka from Sukthi, Durrës, a woman bullied by her work colleagues and, as it turned out, also abused by her husband.
“All of us have experienced bullying. It starts from the words abusing you because of your physical appearance or other social conditions, to those that disturb you psychologically”, the protestors spoke in the rally.
The police did not react to the case although the bullying was reported by the deceased and today we have the death of a desperate mother.
Sociologist Gëzim Tushi said that the phenomenon needs a wide awareness from society, media and educational institutions.
“Bullying is spreading in society like the metastases of cancer, so we must come together, society, media, police, prosecution, to close the channels of this phenomenon. We need to make people aware from kindergarten, school, university, workplace, family, to curb the violence, which is affecting women and children in particular. In addition to the gun, poison, rope, there is now also bullying in net that is causing victims”, says Tushi.
