Blood feuds, money laundering, corruption, lack of a special institution
for mentally ill people who are held in prison, begging children and
minors who get involved in crimes were some of the main concerns of the
Prosecutor General, Adriatik Llalla.
According to the PG, for the annual report of 2013, robberies take a considerable part of crimes.
Drug traffic is another concern. “We need more efficiency in the fight against drug traffic. The most recent strategy has foreseen the inclusion of intelligence services. We need to take measures against the cultivation of narcotics in some parts fo the country. The Prosecution has also asked some equipments that would make investigations more active”, Llalla declared.
The Prosecutor General asked an additional number of Prosecutors and reinforcing the capacity, since the Albanian Prosecution doesn’t own the intelligence equipments.
“We need to add more prosecutors. We have rented equipments that are used for making surveillance, and there is nothing owned by the state”, Llalla declared.
The Prosecutor General declared that the frequent changes of the Criminal Code do not influence the criminal policy in a good way. He added that for the criminal act of threat due to blood feuds they are now investigating even some local government leaders.
