One day after requesting life in prison for the 21-year-old, Aldo Hoxha,
the Prosecutor of this case has been taken under police custody.
The news has been confirmed by the Tirana Prosecution, which confirmed for Top Channel that after Prosecutor Indrit Bumi was threatened on the courtroom by relatives of the defendant, he and his family were taken under protection.
The Tirana Prosecution asked the Directory of Prisons to take measures against the Prison officers who were unable to prevent the incident within the court. Besides some judges who work with difficult cases at the Court of Serious Crimes, the police has also taken under custody some Prosecutors of the Serious Crimes Prosecution, for cases against criminal organizations. Two prosecutors in other cities are also under police protection, especially after one of them found an electronic spy in his vehicle.
However, Aldo Hoxha’s case also had strong legal controversies between the Prosecution and Defense. Aldo Hoxha insists that he has not killed Fatbardha Tafa, who, according to the Prosecution, died during an attack for robbing her of a golden necklace. The Prosecution accused him of robbing in cooperation by causing the death of a person and wounding another, based to a DNA test of a hair and sweat found on a hat. The defense insists that the authorities should repeat the test and see how the hat was taken as evidence.
The process is in the phase of hearing the conclusions of the defense, in the session adjourned to December 4th, when they will ask for the 21-year-old to be free.
