In the appeal submitted to the Supreme Court, in which SPAK prosecution requests Jamarbër Malltezi’s return to prison, the two prosecutors of the case state that he committed corruption by collaborating with the highest official of the time, referring to his father-in-law Sali Berisha.
“He cooperated with former Prime Minister Sali Berisha”, emphasize the two prosecutors, according to whom there is a reasonable suspicion based on evidence that “the foundations of society have been violated in the highest structures”.
The two prosecutors Arben Kraja and Enkelejda Millonai, who are investigating the case of suspicious privatizations of the ‘Partizani’ complex, told the Supreme Court that Albania still suffers from high levels of corruption, and according to them, “this is the reason why the Albanian government has decided to put this matter on the priority list”.
SPAK further states that the crimes for which Malltezi is suspected, that of corruption and money laundering, are punishable by imprisonment.
