Prosecution to question foreign audit company

While the investigators were waiting to interrogate the Inspector
General of the Bank of Albania, Elivar Golemi, the Prosecution asked the
international company “Grant Thorton” to hand over every documentation
and financial report about the certification of the annual balance at
the Bank of Albania for 2013.
The investigators also want the materials for seeing how the Bank of Albania signed the agreement with Grant Thornton, which is recognized as the sixth biggest international audit in the world.
The Prosecution says that this company should have made the auditing, and should have guaranteed the financial accounts and balance, together with the reserves and the stock.
While it is expected that the Prosecutors go and seize the documentation in the offices of this company, Top Channel tried to contact them this August.
The company declared that they were chosen in 2011 through a public tender organized by the Bank of Albania, and that their services have been accepted fully and without problems.
Sources say that the Police has summoned for questioning the three auditors at this company, Julinda Sokoli, Ilir Osmani and Ledia Bregu.
