The Prosecution of Tirana has started a case against the protest
organized by the Municipality of Tirana in front of the Administrative
Court.
The official announcement says that the Prosecution will investigate for “illegal manifestation” and “threats and offense against judges”.
The Prosecution of Tirana requested footage from televisions who filmed the protest of May 11th.
The protest led by Mayor Erion Veliaj was requesting the judge panel to withdraw, since the case against a new construction at the Tirana Artificial Lake was being reviewed by a judge panel with a member who was relative to one of the builders. The Municipality had made a request for the panel to be changed, but it was rejected.
