Prosecution requested 25 years in total for “Kapurani” defendants

The Korce Prosecution asked for 24.6 years in prison for one of the five
main organizers of the Kapurani scheme, which caused a 1.5 million USD
damage to the state. Seven other persons are under investigation for
this matter, five of whom tax inspectors.
They have allowed the Kapurani Vjara company of inert materials to evade tax obligations and realize a fraud scheme for hiding their assets. Foto Kapurani was the administrator of several companies of concrete and hotels. Together with some collaborators, he was able to create companies that realized fictive concrete purchases and sales for tax evasion.
The Korca Prosecution, in cooperation with the Directory of Tax Investigation, found that Kapurani has sold informally 45.000 tons of concrete and other goods, avoiding the tax obligations.
By the end, the Korce Prosecution requested 7.5 years for Foto kapurani, 6 for Vangjush Cerepi, 4.5 for Erion Biberi, 3.5 for Arjan Seferi, 3 for Dhimitri Metellari.
The defendants had an accelerated trial which makes them get 1/3 of the sentence off, in case they are found guilty.
