The Prosecution of Kukes demands prison sentences for most of the protesters who were arrested after this Saturday’s violent clashes at the Nation’s road.
Sources say for Top Channel that the Prosecution demands prison for 11 of the protesters. For five others they will demand house arrest.
The Prosecution argues that the arrest measure for 16 of them was based on the evidence shown so far about the protest and material referred by local police.
According to the Prosecution, 12 police officers have been injured, while four protesters were damaged by tear gas.
The protesters had filed a request for the manifestation, but the Police had not responded.
As soon as they gathered, they started hitting officers with sold objects and putting toll booths on fire.
Since the trial will be held in Kukes, the Prosecution demands assistance from the Special Forces.
In the meanwhile, supporters of the protesters are gathering in front of the Tirana police, demanding their release.
“I am coming from Italy. I have interrupted my cure in Italy and arrived here to support my friends”, once citizens says.
“I am not protesting for the party, but for the economy itself”, another citizen says.
