The Prosecution General, based on the materials offered by the State
Police, has started an investigation of MP Gent Strazimiri, accused of
illegally carrying a weapon during protests at the Tirana Artificial
Lake.
A press release from the Prosecution says that MP Strazimiri is accused of “illegal possession of firing arms and ammunition”.
The same file investigates citizen P.N, who declared that Strazimiri had handed over another gun than what he was carrying during the manifestation.
The official announcement says that the citizen in question was introduced as the representative of a German arm producing firm and said that the company he represented had donated a few years ago some weapons to the Ministry of Interior, one of which is still owned by Strzimiri.
The Prosecution say they are still investigating other people involved in the protest, together with the legality of the playground that is being built.
