The Prosecution will keep challenging the Court’s verdict for releasing
Arben Frroku. The Prosecution will use the key witness, now under
protection, who was present at the scene, as suggested by footage from
security cameras. But the Court says the witness is seen in the camera
footage four minutes after the act.
The Court insists that his testimony is reliable, since he has identified the vehicle used by the killer and its license plate with accuracy. The Prosecution says that two other people have given declarations that support the testimony of their key witness.
The Prosecution says that the fact that the witness is seen in the camera footage four minutes after the act, doesn’t mean he wasn’t there, outside the camera’s field of view. The Prosecution insists that the witness was just 15 meters away from the camera field.
The phone records, according to the Prosecution, confirm that right after the crime, the witness has called Ylli Memia and gave him the license plate of the vehicle, and Memia has admitted this in the preliminary investigations, although he denied it later in court.
“It is true that Memia denied this in Court, the asme as he denied having met Agron Kulicaj and Tonin Vocaj, but the phone records explain that his testimony in court was false. For this reason he is being investigated by the Criminal Court of Tirana.
But these are not the final stances of the Prosecution, since the Court has not handed over the arguments of their verdict. Any opposition of the Prosecution comes from the verdict they have seen publicly through media outlets.
